I have 2 Kicker Solo Baric L7's what would be a GOOD AMP to power these?

  • I originally had a D6 12" Diamond audioSubwoofer with a Kenwood 1800Watt AMP to it and it sounds good but i want more BASS. So i bought 2 12" Kicker Solo-Baric L7's....Now i still have the kenwood amplifier and was wondering if i should just use that amp? Buy one more so i have 1 for each sub? What AMP would be best to power these 2 Subwoofers?

    THANKS !!!

  • click here if these are ur subs.. ur gonna need  a 1500 RMS amp.. so ur talking anywhere from 600 to a 1000 bucks for a true 1500 watt RMS amp.. idk if u know much about this stuff but u look at RMS not PEAK power.. and what kind of box do u have if its a ported box u will need an amp with a sub sonic filter.   u wanna match the amps RMS power as close as u can with the subs. i would get anywhere from a 1300 to 1500 rms amp. cf calls for the amp to be 70% of the rms power of the subs..

    Alpine CDA-9825, pioneer 5 1/4s, Kenwood 6by9s KFC-6909S, 2 12in Mtx terminators TNP212D, Mtx terminator amp TN250/1, Jvc 2 channel amp KS-AX3002, Jvc 2 channel KS-AX4302, 1 sound led reactive light

  • Its a ported box. So my KENWOOD KAC-9104D CLASS D MONOBLOCK 1800watts probably only puts out a "true" 900 watts?

Would a JBL GTO14001 Monoblock Car Amplifier/Amp 1500W RMS work? According to what ive read its a "true 1500RMS output"

  • the L7'S Are S12L72 Dual 2 ohm coils is the 4 ohm's better?

  • yeah the watts are right. 1500 rms at 2 ohms.. but i couldnt see if it had a sub sonic filter or not.. u must have a sub sonic in a ported box!! u should look at what crutchfield has to offer i think u will like it there a a good dealer..  they have some nice stuff. be careful looking on other sites as u might get screwed on a warrenty...

  • OK So here is another one for you..i technically havent got the 2 12" Kicker Solo-Baric L7's yet(have a friend holding them for me)

    Now what would be a better BASS HITTING system....the 2 12" L7's or 1 12" JL Audio W7

The L7's will be powered by 2 kenwood amps at 900RMS each(L7's take 750RMS each)

    or

The 12W7 JL Audio will be powered by a JBL GTO14001 (1500 TRUE RMS)

What Set-Up should i go with?

  • ok.. kicker.. makes things that go loud.. but sound sloppy!!!. JL.. makes things .. that well.. can go loud.. but usually cant touch kicker.. but sound really clean and nice.. prolly some the the cleanest things uve heard will be JL, Focal, and such brands.. things like kicker.. rockford subs, MTX subs.. hit really hard.. you get more bang for your buck.. but you loose sound quality and get sloppy :S

so its your call.. be really loud.. but not as clean and be a bit sloppy

    or

not be super loud.. but have nicer SQ and cleaner bass

    your call :)

JVC KD-AVX44, 2 Massive Audio Hippo 8's , Hifonics Colossus going back in soon, MB Quart ONX216, Fli audio FL450S-F2, Energy ENC693x2 in rear deck, 6 gauge kit plus a huge 3 gauge kit. Custom built box for my 8's :)

  • Cool thanks man.

    Its a Tough choice....

At the price of 2 L7's in a ported box i can get a one 12w7 jl audio(not in a box) it seems like a no brainer. PLUS i already have 1 kenwood 1800W 900RMS AMP..and it wouldnt cost much to get 1 more to power the other L7. Where as i would have to buy either a Kicker zx1500.1 or JBL GTO14001 for the JL 12w7.....

Im just hoping the 2 Kenwood AMP's(KAC-9104D) can make the L7's bump HARD.
