Naturally, people around here are always talking about the latest, greatest electronic gear. I have a long list of things I hope to own soon, and I sometimes wonder what my friends at work would love to have. Thanks to a recent informal, open-ended poll we took at Crutchfield, I was able to find out. So what do the people who live and breathe consumer electronics want to get for themselves?

Almost a fifth of those who responded said a plasma or LCD HDTV is next on their list. I was a little surprised that number wasn’t higher.
Other folks are looking to add home theater components: over a quarter of us want Blu-ray players, receivers, speakers, or subwoofers. Does that make us couch potatoes?
A sentimental 14% of us long for a new digital SLR, better point-and-shoot digital camera, or camcorder to capture memories.
Crutchfield also has plenty of hip kids-at-heart: 12% want gaming systems, naming PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 as their top choices.
And we didn't leave our cars out of the equation: a fifth of us hope to add receivers, speakers, iPod adapters, or navigation systems to make driving more fun. One hard rocker plans to put in a powerful subwoofer.
As for the rest who answered the poll, the gamut ran wide. Some wishes were modest (a universal remote control), and some were less modest (a multi-room music streamer).
Now I wonder how our Crutchfield composite wish list compares with what our customers want. What electronic gear have you been craving lately?
