As you've probably heard, Feb. 17, 2009 is the date that all analog TVs will need to be connected to a converter box in order to receive over-the-air TV broadcasts. Many of the people who rely on airwave broadcasts are those who are least able to cope with the challenges of a DTV converter installation. Please download our new DTV Converter Guide and use it to help a friend or neighbor set up a DTV converter. The guide covers what to look for and what to expect from a DTV converter. It includes converter hookup diagrams and tips on how to aim an antenna or install a new one.
To apply for a $40 government coupon to offset the cost of a converter box, visit the DTV2009 website. Don't put it off until the last minute, as 75% of the funding the government allocated for the coupons has already been used, according to an article in TWICE magazine. The government recently expanded the program to cover nursing home residents and people who get their mail from post office boxes.
