About the Photo Club

Crutchfield’s photography enthusiasts decided to start a club where we could share photos and talk shop. Every few weeks we choose a topic and shoot pictures for that theme, then get together to look at our work and compare techniques. On this blog, we’ll share some of those tips and highlight a few photos from each theme. Plus, we’ll answer questions about photography in the comments.

Our third photo topic was "Shadows." The focus of this assignment was to think of the negative space and/or "shadow" as the main subject. Below is an example of a shot that not only uses the shadow as the subject, but also uses the negative space to help frame an object.

Look for plenty more really fun and inventive shots in the Crutchfield Photo Club "Shadows" album on Shutterfly.
