I am upgrading the system in my Jeep Wrangler. I currently have 2 - 10" 8ohm subs wired in parallel for a 4ohm load on my amp - Fosgate 200M. I want to replace my amp with the Alpine MRP-M500 and may replace my subs with Type-R's at a later time. I wanted to know if one MRP-M500 at a 2ohm load would have enough power for the two Type-R's? It would work great with my current setup but wanted to make sure it would be sufficient in the future.
Or would the MRP-M1000 be a better choice? I guess I could always add a second MRP-M500 later and wire one to each sub. Thanks in advance.
No the alpine MRP 500 won't have enough power. And don't get two amps. It's waaaay more work than you think. Just don't do it.
Get the MRP-1000 and the Type R 1022D
