Installed KTP-445a with Alpine CDE-143BT and no sound except ACC

This question is not answered

Hello all,

I have scoured the internet and this forum to no avail for hours hence my posting now.  I have a 2000 Honda Insight with the CDE-143BT installed with no issues.  When i plug in the KTP-445a inline amp, i get sound during ACC, but not with the car full on.  The head unit still retains all its functionality otherwise, except no sound.

The yellow, red, and black wires are all lined up and not miswired through some freak accident at the manufacturing plant.

Granted that the radio of the Insight is only 10amps and that is the rating of the fuse installed, that should not effect the power unless it was to draw more than 10amps and pop the circuit.  The amp says that the radio in the car should be at least 15amps.  The ACC amp for the car is only 7.5amp.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tony

  • You do not have to use the ACC fuse. Use the wiper fuse if it is 15 amp, or any accessory fuse at least 15 amp.
