I have 2 JL 10tw3-D4 that are 4 ohms and 400 watts rms each and just got a MRX-M110 alpine amp that puts out 1,100 watts at 2 ohms and 650 watts at 4ohms. Will this amp be to much and end up burning my jl's. I wanna figure what y'all have to say before I install.
The 2 - Dual Voice Coil subs can be wired as a 4 ohm load like this - images.crutchfieldonline.com/.../2DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg
or they can be wired as a 1 ohm load like this - images.crutchfieldonline.com/.../2-DVC-4-ohm-mono-low-imp.jpg
So, as a 4 ohm load, they should receive (according to your figures, I couldn't find that amp) 325 watts RMS each.
Found it ... www.crutchfield.com/.../Alpine-MRX-M110.html
Should be 1 ohm stable and output 400 watts RMS to each sub. So, wire them as a 1 ohm load, as 2nd diagram above. :)
