Re: Visonik Question
Paul
I do understand where you are coming from and seeing as how this unit is not CEA2006 compliant, it may not put out that wattage. However, I have seen amps before that did not even have a fuse in them. In other words, they have no protections circuitry. Now, it may still fail if connected improperly,...

advantages/disadvatages to wiring an amp using a LOC or high level input?

What are the advantages/disadvatages to wiring an amp using a LOC or high level input? I'm considering getting the Kicker CompVR 07CVR82 and the Kicker ZX400.1 amp and installing it to my factory stereo. The sub is a 2 ohm DVC, so I would wire it in series then? Also is this a good amp for the sub? going...

Re: Noise filter recomendation?
Paul
Engine noise can come in a few different ways. The first is the power wire is pulling the noise from the alternator. We do not have a noise filter that works for amps, but we used to carry one . You will want to search for newer models that have better ratings. The power supply isn't the only potential...

Re: whats up with this sony amp
Paul
The signal to noise ratio for the Sony XMD-9001GTR amp was pulled from straight from the manual for the unit. While we have not done extensive testing, I would imagine that it is correct. While that specification is important, it alone should not be the deciding factor when choosing an amp. If all the...

Re: Blowing amp..... Fuses fine.
Warren
Hey Sandman, It sounds like you have a problem at the speakers. If the fuses are not blowing, then the power end of things sounds fine. I would focus on the speakers themsleves and work your way back to the amp. Especially since this started occuring after you installed them. I know you said you don...

Re: AMPS

I agree. Here's some good ones that we carry.... I like the Kenwood KAC-9103D . It has 900 watts at 2 ohms and is good bang for the buck. If your subs can handle 1000 watts between the two of them, then this should be a decent match. The Sony XM-D9001GTR has also received good reviews on our...

Re: What subwoofer for this amp?
Warren
I like Kicker subs quite a bit and the Comp VR series would work well for you. You could go with the CompVR 07CVR124 subwoofer. It is a dual 4-ohm 12" sub that handles 400 watts RMS at 2 ohms. That's a perfect match for your amp and we currently have that for $149.99. It's excellent and you can see these...

Re: WHAT TYPE OF AMP SHLD I USE....help

Specifically, are the 12" subs the 2-ohm DVC or 4-ohm DVC version? If they are 2-ohm, then you can wire them to a mono amp that can handle a 3 ohm load. If they are 4-ohm, then you can connect them to a mono amp that can handle a 2.7 ohm load. Here is a wiring diagram for 3 2-ohm DVC subs to a mono...

Re: need help choosing amp for Alpine SWR-1242D

I checked the Alpine SWR-1242D subwoofers and they will handle up to 500 watts RMS power and run at 2 ohms when you parallel the voice coils together. Since you like clean bass and will be getting one subwoofer, but want to be able to hear it, I recommend getting a sealed box and the Kenwood KAC-8103D...

Okay, so Toyota and JBL claim that the 9 speaker upgraded system that I started with in my '07 Rav4 ran a total of 440w from a little amp mounted above the rear wheel well. First, I replaced the OEM subwoofer with a shallow mount in the stock location and put in an auxilliary amp, with a 12 volt converter...
