I have been playing music from both my 3gen and 4gen itouch via bluetooth with no issues. Just bought an iphone and my Kenwood DDX418 does not recognize it. Anyone else have issues with the kenwood receivers and iphones? Is there an app I can get that will make the bluetooth from this deck and my iphone work?
the last firmware update for your HU was in 2008 (before the launch of the newer iPhones) so it simply does not support it. no app that i know of can fix your problem. sorry for the bad news. blue-tooth sound isn't all that great anyway... convenient, but terrible sounding. did you try it with the iPod cable?
J Rodid you try it with the iPod cable?
There's not an app that will make your phone work with that receiver, as JRO mentioned. The new iPhone is compatible with this receiver, but you'll need THIS cable.
Does anyone else have a recommendation?
Kenwood does list the iPhone 4S as working with this Bluetooth in this receiver for A2DP which is a Bluetooth audio streaming formats. If it is not pairing, then you may try clearing out the registered Bluetooth devices or at least make sure that you do not have 5 Bluetooth devices registered in the receiver. It can only have 5 total so if the list is full, then it would need to be cleared.
So many months later after clearing all my bluetooth devices numerous time I still have never gotten my 4s phone to pair with this stereo via bluetooth. Are there firmware updates that might resolve this issue and if so how would I even go about figuring 1st if I have the most updated firmware and second actually installing it?
Many thank you's,
