How to setup/power my subs/amp!

This question is not answered

Hello everyone. I am having difficulty understanding how to power/wire my setup. Here is what I have below:

(2) JL Audio 12w3v3 subs - 4ohm

(1) Kenwood 1000w peak mono amp - 200w@4 ohms or 400w@2 ohms

Is my amp not enough power for my subs?  I also am adding

(2) JL Audio 10" 4 ohm marine free air subs 250w max.

Please let me know what you think. I obviously have to add an amplifier to this setup and was wondering how to wire them optimally (series/parallel).  I could use the current mono amp to power the marine subs and get a new amp for the 12's. Thanks.

  • this isn't exactly a grocery list of components.  i think you can get it wired up without much trouble.  don't know exactly where you're snagged, but some of the CF tutorials may get you off to a good start.

that amp won't power those 12w3v3-4's to their full potential, but it will of course work and produce bass.

why?  you already have 12w3v3-4's!  is this for a boat?  you wouldn't normally want those subs for vehicular use.  there are superior options available for less.
