So I have a 2 channel 2800 watt max 2 ohm stable 4 ohm bridgeable amp that I am trying to wire to 2 subwoofers. Each subwoofer is 2200 watt max and 1100 watt rms 4 ohm dual voice coil and has two positive and 2 negative inputs. Could someone please give me a diagram on how to set this up.
We need to know the models of the subs and amp to be able to really help you, but this is how you'd wire them to the amp in bridged mode, if they prove to be a decent match.Max power should never be considered, it's the RMS power that you need to be looking at and matching, but I believe the manufacturer(s) of your gear are exaggerating on the specs.
I have a Lanzar Opti700X2 amplifier Optidrive series, and 2 Lanzar Opti1234D subwoofers Optidrive series. Thank you for answering my question though.
Lanzar is known to over rate their gear, but your model is one of their higher level models and it calls for an inline fuse of 300AMPS, so.... I'm not sure anymore. Fuse rating suggests it's capable of producing rated power, but Lanzar's track record says otherwise.
No idea what the amp's bridged RMS output happens to be as they only list the MAX/PEAK power output in bridged mode, which is pretty much useless.
At least both the amp and subs are made by Lanzar so their exaggerated specs should coincide with one another and end up being a pretty decent match. .
I do have a 300 AMP fuse, but will that original wiring diagram you gave me work for the setup I have.
Yes, wiring the two 4 ohm DVC subs to present a 4 ohm load wired to your amp in bridged mode is going to be the best option. You don't want one sub wired to each chanel at 2 ohms as there a greater chance of the subs playing out of phase if your source outputs a stereo signal.
Speaking of which, what car is this going into, what HU are you using, and is the enclosure going to be sealed or ported?
Thank you and 1999 Toyota 4Runner, the head unit is a Pioneer and im pretty sure its a DEH-1200MP, the enclosure is going to be sealed too.
You're going to need to upgrade your alternator and do the Big 3 upgrade to fully be able to use that amp, if it pumps out even closure to it's rated power. Trust me, your factory alternator ( 80AMP I think) and wiring isn't going to cut it.
Sadly, your HU doesn't have sub preamp outputs, so unless you buy a universal gain/level remote like a PAC LC1 hen you won't have separate sub volume control. Unless the amp has a gain remote, didn't look and I'm not wanting to go hunting again. Sorry.
As for the enclosure being sealed, that's great, if it had been ported you would have needed to know what it was tuned to and use a subsonic filter set no more than 5Hz below the tuning of the enclosure, but being a sealed enclosure we don't need to worry about this.

Agreed, but these are better than I am used to from Lanzar.
I did pull the manual.
The Opti500x2 is supposed to be 750Wx2@2-ohms RMS or 1500W. It would then likely draw 208A, but it only has 160A of onboard fuses, implying a max output closer to 1100W RMS.
The Opti700x2 is supposed to be 1050x2 or 2100W RMS which would then draw 292A. Lanzar RECOMMENDS a 300A fuse, but no fuse is supplied. I suspect a rat here, but at least the amp should do maybe 3/4 of rated power - which is better than most of their previous equipment.

Well-said.
Anyone else have suggestions?

it would have been more like 1-1/4x rating. i doubt it's cuz of us and our constant moaning, but SoundStream seems to be putting out some quality gear again and maybe Lanzar is turning things around as well. hard to make a living off just a name, cuz after a few years of producing over-rated junk, buyers will look elsewhere. my biggest gripe has got to be with MB Quart... how could you!
Correct, before they sold out. Also - I didn't know that Soundstream had gone downhill. I knew SoundStorm was pretty much junk and I used to get the names confused ...

they created the "tarantula" amplifier, so they will always be a go-to brand but nothing they've offered since has topped it (the tarantula nano line is all new, and haven't seen one or read a review yet... i hope its good but i must reserve judgment. if it turns out to be similar to offerings from JL and Alpine for full-range class D, i will recant my statement).
i guess it's more a question of what their best ever was and what their current line of products is. might not have been the best example, because SoundStream stuff has never approached "flea market junk" status like say Lanzar... but it does seem like their best years are behind them. they are perpetually in "catch-up" mode these days, and don't generate anything particularly innovative (quality, perhaps, but not cutting edge tech like JL or Fi or even Alpine). i look at them in kind of the way i see HiFonics... not particularly innovative, but decent quality (altho yester-tech) and warrantied stuff (meaning if it breaks, they will fix it). this opinion applies to their amps, not gonna say the same about their sub designs... their higher end subs are VERY impressive but their higher end amps are... not. overall probably only a mediocre brand these days, not cutting edge. (i think they pioneered 5 channel amps... but not for sure who did it first, but i tend to give SS credit for getting it RIGHT with the tarantula.

Not a fan-boy by any means, but 15KW amps for $5,000 is pretty impressive to me. Rockford has similar wattage on their high-end amps, but 4x the price.
FWIW...
