As a registered member, you’ll be able to:
i have a 2-channel bridgeable amp thats 4ohms stereo stable and two 4 ohm DVC subwoofers.the amp is cheap and i will not mention the brand for fear of getting laughed at but i want to run the subs bridged in mono for maximum power.is it safe to run them in parallel.is it safe to run a 4ohm amp at 8ohms?
You want to run them in series-parallel at 4-ohms final.
You could run the voice coils in parallel on separate channels at 2-ohms per channel. You won't get any less power, but the subs might not hit at the same time - causing cancellation.
It's probably safe to run the amp bridged at 8-ohms, but you can't wire two DVC-4-ohm subs that way.
Hope This Helps!!!
Anyone else have suggestions?
