Ok, so I bought the adapter that allows On-Star and the door chimes, etc to work and I'm not having a problem there. However, by replacing the factory radio, I lose the date functionality of my DIC. I bought a harness to relocate my factory radio to the trunk: http://mobilistics11.mybigcommerce.com/products/2000%252dUP-GM-Harness-to-NonFactory-Stereo-Adapt%7B47%7DRetention.html
The only problem I have now, is that I have no clue how to route the harness through the car into the trunk. I've never done anything like that before and I have no clue as to what path to take, I need to know what components I need to take apart and exactly how the harness should be routed. Would someone be willing to give me a detailed explanation of how to do this? Pictures and/or diagrams would be extra helpful. Thanks!
Metra sells an adapter to retain the DIC, but your solution might well work better.
I don't have specific info on the Grand Prix, however.
If you bought any of the car stereo components from CF, their tech support can help you out - or you could order their MasterSheets for $10 (which won't cover this), and then you could probably get access to their tech support.
Hope This Helps!!!
Anyone else have suggestions?

Yes, I did buy everything from CF, so perhaps I will call them.
Do you happen to know the Metra part number? Because I searched for it and couldn't find it. I already have the Metra GMOS-01 installed which retains On-Star and the chimes, but I wasn't aware that there was one for the date. As far as I know, the DIC uses the clock in the radio to keep the date working. But I would much rather just install another adapter instead of tearing my interior apart. Thanks for your help.
I'm pretty sure it's the 99-3303 (and it's 50% off with a head unit purchase if you bought one of those from CF). Instructions.
