I am looking to get a new HDTV and I am trying to figure out what size and model to go with. Here is as much background info as I can think to give now:
- I have a PS3 and many BluRays so 1080p is looking like a necessity. (I have an HDMI cable and all that)
- It may be used in a bedroom or possibly an apartment main room for College people
- I don't have a ton to spend on this (probably as much as 1500 but that is stretching it)
Basically my main questions pertaining to size have to do with the notion that 1080p doesn't matter if the size of the tv isn't that big. Does it make sense to go with a 32 or 37 inch HDTV (like the Samsung or Sony that are 1080) or is that just a waste since it likely won't be THAT big of a room? Also, since the BluRays and gaming are part of the equation, should I really look into any of the 120Hz stuff or is that just supposed to sound good in advertisement and is really overrated? Thanks a lot and please let me know what suggestions you have.
jwill welcome to the boards.
tv shopping on a budget can be challenging and very rewarding if you know what you really need.
Let's assume that 1080p is a must because of the blu-ray / PS3
I wouldn't worry about 120Hz.. it's a feature that isn't a MUST have.
Next, since it seems like youre in college or going to be in school, you should keep the TV smaller so it's easy to move when you change dorms or apartments.
And using your TV size listed I've come up with the following list

Of the sets listed, the 37A530 from Samsung is the set that I would choose...
Good Luck!
