I have had the KD-AHD39 for about a year or so.  I loved it until this morning...  The signal from the HD Radio is now intermittant.  Meaning that every 10 or so seconds it cuts out, and then a few seconds later it comes back.  Has anyone else had this problem?

  1. This seems to happen on multiple channels (I happens with the NPR station, and at least one clear channel station - eliminating the thought that the transmitter is bad).
  2. It does not say "linking" when it loses the signal.
  3. It does not seem to be vibration related at the dash board (I tried banging it a few times).
  4. I powered cycled the unit and reseated the face plate.

I have a 2005 Volvo V70, I have not tried to see if the antenna connection in the rear antenna is loose.

The other question is about the rear speakers.  The kids complain that they are too "low".  I can change the fader to fix this, but in order to "balance" the sound, I really have to bias it towards the rear.  Are the impedences different between the front and rear for the stock speakers?

I have had a Sony HD tuner for a year and a half and my HD reception is a lot worse in the last month or so.  I'm wondering if they changed the standards or something.

The fader problem could be from the front speakers being amped, or the rear speakers having an amp that was bypassed by the install, but I don't see evidence of that.

Hope This Helps!!!

Anyone else have suggestions?
