Hello,

My name is Daniel and I'm a 22 year old Audio/Video/Computer/Car enthusiast. I am working for Crutchfield this summer as the Online Community Management Intern. During the rest of the year I  work on my business and IT degree at the University of Virginia's business school (McIntire School of Commerce). Coming to work for Crutchfield has been a wonderful experience, and the opportunity to help provide the level of customer service that Crutchfield does has been very satisfying and enjoyable. If you ever have questions I'd be happy to help!

When I was a kid I would rip apart broken (or almost broken) boomboxes and stereos, hoping to make something that would sound better. If I didn't completely demolish what was left of a system or overload the amp, I actually did make them sound better. From then on, I have been in pursuit of the best sound I can get and the best video I can view.

You may notice that I don't currently own a DVD player, this is because I am a avid computer user and run nearly everything (except broadcast television) through my computer. I don't have a dedicated HTPC, but my main computer system functions as the central hub of my entertainment experience.

My car currently has:

    Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P6900UB
    Amplifier: Sony XM-400P5 (200w@4ohm, 400w@2ohm)
    Subwoofer: 10" Alpine Type-E
    Enclosure: Q-Logic 1cf Sealed
Front Dr:  Custom 6.5" door panel (factory 5" housing), Polk db650
    Rear Deck: Stock 6x9"

It is a start, though most of it will likely be replaced soon, especially the factory speakers.

My home viewing experience:

Television:    Samsung 42" Widecreen Plasma EDTV
    Receiver:    Onkyo TX-SR505 7.1 Receiver
    Front:        Klipsch SF-2 Tower Speakers
Surround:    Klipsch SS-1 Surround Channel Speakers
Center:        Klipsch SC-1 Center Channel Speaker
Subwoofer:    Klipsch KSW-10 Powered 10" Subwoofer

It is all a generation old, but still works great. I actually won the TV in a raffle for a friend's baseball team.

While I am an avid fan of classic cars, muscle cars, and many of today's vehicles, my personal vehicle and car of choice is the Honda Accord. I have owned five of them. If you ever have questions about an Accord feel free to PM me and I may be able to help you out.

Music Taste: I primarily listen to rock & roll, hard rock, alternative rock, and metal. I enjoy (to differing degrees) nearly all types of music, ranging from death metal and industrial to classical and bluegrass.

Movie Taste: I am a huge fan of movies in all genres. As long as the acting is at least halfway decent and there is some kind of a plot I'm generally happy :).

I hope you enjoy the forums as we continue to work on improving the Customer Experience. If you have any comments or ideas, let us know!

Wow, that's got to be neat being an intern at Crutchfield. Do you get to play with stereo stuff while at work?

It is really neat. Every so often there is a training on some new piece of hardware that we carry, but primarily I work in the IT/web dev/etc. part of the building with all the computers, not in the tech support department with all of the toys :). I can go visit, of course.
