They came in today...my question is, can I hook them up to the amp in my car, to make sure they work until I get my box made/bought? They will be in open air, but only for a few seconds..
Does Crutchfield have any boxes built for trucks? I don't recall seeing any.
I've never built a box before, not do I have to proper tools to do so, does anyone know of a good place to buy boxes for trucks?

I don't think it would be a problem, but I'm not a box expert.
The "speaker stuff" (polyfil) is made to make the sub think it is in a bigger box, so it would make it worse.
What you are concerned with though is the internal volume, so you can always somewhat reduce that.
The math gets tricky, but you want to drop 0.10 cubic feet, so a 2x4 is (well, it's 1.5x3.5 - so 5.25 sq inches cross section - so 0.036 sq ft, so the length needed is 1/0.036 or 2.75 linear feet or 33 inches - so if you took 33 inches of 2x4 and cut it up and glued it inside the box, you have .75 cu. ft. per sub.

Isn't your truck a standard cab? If so, you'll likey have to build your own. I know I had to. I hated every minute of it, until I got the covering on it. If you do happen to find a box, let me know so I can hate myself for the next few years ()

Technically, I don't think we're allowed to post links to other places if they directly compete with Crutchfield.
That said, there are plenty of places (Crutchfield included) that sell truck boxes, either universal shallow wedge or custom.
What subs are you looking at right now? (Helps giving recommendations for boxes.)

Yep, it's standard, and I did find a place that carries behind the seat boxes, however, even though it looks like it'll work perfect, I'm a tall guy, and need to have the seat all the way back. I need to call the website who has them, and if it'll work, I'll but it. It's $99.99, runs the back length of the cab, and has a center are for amp mounting. Looks nice.
The subs I have are 2 10" MTX ThunderRoad 4500's.
I really hate myself, because I just designed and (painstakingly) built a box with a very similar description. Give me a minute and I'll post a pic...

Ok, now for box options. I was/am still considering the one I saw, but I'm looking at these as well.
Either two of these,

With #1, all seems well, however, #1 is 7 3/4" deep, and # 2 is 6 1/2" deep. Most likely, I can install #2, without having ot move me seat up, and therefore be able to drive without having my legs cramped up in the dash.
With #1, I would need to buy 2...not a big problem, but added cost, and I may have to move my seat up. But it has a .75 cu.ft. volume, which is exactly what is recommended for these subs.
With #2, I just need to buy one, however, it only has 1/2" MDF, which seems a little too small for me (is it?) and the net volume per chamber is .83 cu.ft. which is over the amount recommended.
Which would be the better option in the long run?

I don't know about the boxes. You could probably build your own dividers from MDF to decrease the internal volume.

LOL. I still say mine looks better. That's black vinyl covering it. And my LEDs should be in by next friday. They're blue. And they're going to blink in time to the music.
I like BlackChevy's better as well - mostly b/c of the gray carpet, though.

I went to *mmrmph* and they only have one, but it is .85 cu. ft. per sub. MTX recommends .75 cu. ft. Will that be a problem? Can I stuff that speaker stuff compound CF sells in it to help, or would that make it worse?
