Hey, I have a Kenwood DDX-512 and I pressed the Reset button on the headunit and lost all my settings. I connected my iPod to the headunit and now it doesn't recognize it. All it says is Disconnected when I go to the iPod source, it doesn't even charge the iPod.. It was working fine until I pressed the reset button so there has to be something off that isn't allowing the HU to recognize the iPod.

Also when the iPod is plugged in I can hear the music if I press play on the iPod. Could there be a loose connection, or do you think it is a setting?

Can anyone please help me out here this is dangerous enough looking down at the iPod while driving. This just happened earlier today and it's getting me frustrated. I'm not sure if the reset has anything to do with the problem but that's when I noticed it. I tried it on 2 different ipods and still nothing. Also I have the latest firmware 2.4.0.

Could a loose connection be the problem? I was getting the usb plug and I might have tugged on the iPod Connector wire, or is the iPod cable itself somehow defective? I have no clue what is going on.

Is it possible try updating the firmware or even repairing it? I'm hoping to get this problem fixed real soon so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, if you didn't change the firmware and it was working previously and isn't now, a firmware upgrade won't fix it - it might not be a bad idea, but it likely won't fix the problem (pressing reset is not going to roll-back the firmware, for instance).

I would suspect and try to rule out a loose connection, and if that isn't it, I would suspect some custom menu setting that got changed back.

If you bought from CF, their tech support can help also.

Hope This Helps!!!

Anyone else have suggestions?
