i have the kenwood KCA-iP301V ipod adapter connected to my kenwood headunit kvt-514 and sometimes in the middle of songs the song just stops.  there is then a few seconds of silence and then the next song on the ipod starts playing.  the files are mp3 files which the ipod can play and are not corrupt.  it's really annoying but seems to be somewhat random.  anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

You might could try a firmware update for your iPod. There have been a few updates available and that may fix your problem.

I've had a similar issue previously, and found that it was due to my iPod actually being "on the fritz" so to speak. That was two years ago, and the same iPod is still functioning 'mostly', but now will not be recognized by my computer. The issue in the car seems to come and go without much explanation. I have a new iPod that I mainly use, but keep the other one in the glove box for those moments where I may want to hear one of my old playlist on it or music I have loaded on it and not my newer model.
