He is planning on getting a JL 13w7-D1.5 sub. Should he get a Rockford power t1500-1bd or a kicker 08zx1500.1? Or should he get something with more watts

Both of those amps would be underpowering that sub because of the ohm load. Not that they wouldn't work....Look into the Kicker 2500.1, Rockford Fosgate T2500-1BD.

If you want a cheaper option...Hifonics BXI 2610D or Soundstream RUB1.2500D

Any one of these amps would really push that sub as long as the vehicles electrical is up to par.

Ok so that 1500.1bd how many watts would it push out if we hooked it to that sub without dropping ohm load to low and what would be the ohm load

3-ohms and probably rated about 750W, but the 750W is an estimate and RF usually does more than rated.

The JL is 66% of rated power, likely does a bit more.

Hope This Helps!!!

Soo your saying that the Rockford would be better?  If you were to get that sub which amp would you get ? something 700 dollars or less most probably

No - I was just answering your earlier question.

Personally, I would probably get a Sundown SAZ-1500D and run it at 0.75-ohms, b/c I think it will do that.

See this thread also, the specs on the Powerbass XTA-4000 look right, but I don't think you'll find it under $7000 - the amps Namosh posted should work as well.

Hope This Helps!!!

Everything looks good, with a few minor caveats...

  1. You might think about running the tweeters and components off the amp, and the 4" coax off the deck. The tweets are rated for 50W as opposed to the 4" at 35W.
  2. Instead of running a 2ch and 4ch, you could just get JL's 6ch amp, and save $100.
  3. The Slash is only (!) rated for 1000W, or less than 67% of the W7's rated power. Not a huge issue, but a bit underpowering your sub.
