Has anyone put one of these HU's in a 07 - 09 Silverado with the new body style? I was getting ready to order one and the web sight says it fits but there a "Installation Details for your 2009 Silverado" on the order page which says......

"Some Double DIN radios may not fit due to harness interference with the dash substructure. If your Double DIN radio has wire harnesses or RCA connectors that plug into the bottom half of the back of the radio, your radio may not fit in the dash. Please check the back of your radio before ordering."

This is just a work truck so it has just the basic radio package installed w/onstar. I know I'll need the GM adapter, but will the HU fit or not?

The web sight says it does, but then says it may not??? So... do I have enough depth to install this HU? It's almost like buy at your own risk.....

I do understand your concern about the fitment of the Kenwood DDX514 receiver into your 07-09 Chevy Silverado. The depth that you have available in the dash for an aftermarket receiver is 6.765" (for all three years and all the different cab styles) and that receiver only need 6.225" of depth. This means that even if you were to install amps that use the RCA outputs or if you have the Bose sound system and need an interface that has RCA connections on it, then you will be okay. You will not need to worry about the depth. It will work. HTH!

Could be a problem with that HU - you might be able to trim some of the rear support structure behind the dash to make it fit.  Not exactly buy at your own risk - most sites don't tell you anything about fitment and with CF you can return it for $7 - no questions asked.

You might contact an advisor who would be able to give you exact fitment depth data.

Hope This Helps!!!
