Hello All. Hopefully you guys will be able to answer a few of my questions. I'm in search of a head unit to replace my stock unit in my 2004 Hyundai Sonata with the following requirements:
Is there anything out there that fits this bill? The Sony MEX-BT3700 looks close, but the Mic seems to be unavailable (and I don't want to order a unit without the external mic). The easy to use and good sounding bluetooth is the most important feature. If it doesn't do that well I'd rather go with a cheaper unit without bluetooth.
Also. It is unclear to me reading the reviews and specs if these units can handle an iPhone that is plugged in to charge/play music and be able to take calls over bluetooth. If it can't do that then I might as well not connect the iPhone, and would be forced to use another charger (obviously not ideal). Does anybody have experience using an iPhone with head units like this?
Thanks so much for your help.
Hey beergeek,
I would recommend that you take a look at the Pioneer DEH-P6100BT. It is a little over your budget, but it is easily the best sounding, easy to use Bluetooth equipped stereo with an external mic near your price range. It will work with your iPhone connected to play music off of your iPod function and allow you to take calls from your iPhone. The only catch is that if you take a phone call while listening to the iPod function, you will need to manually press the source button to cycle back through to the iPod input after you hang up your call. This is due to a delay implemented in the iPhone after you hang up. Other than that everything should work just as you want it.
I Hope that helps.
