Bill,

In the early 1980's, you developed your own line of car amplifiers, I purchased two of these units.  I must say that at the time, I thought they were one of the best built (Yes, I took one apart and checked the build quality, it looked like it had been manufactured for military use) and best sounding units for 50% of the cost of comparable other units.  Alas, in the mid '90's my vehicle was broken into and all my precious electronics were harvested (I have no doubt I would probably be still using them today).  By this point, you guys had discontinued this line of amps; I was heart broken.  To this day, every piece of electronics I purchase have the misfortune of being subjected to the scrutiny of comparison to your pieces of electronic art and most all fall short.

When, oh when, will you bring back your own line of amplifiers to show other manufacturers how to do it right?  When you decide to do it, pencil me down for two.

Sincerely,

D. Ostrander

Loyal customer since 1980

Thanks for the kind words.  There was a previous thread on this, and I believe the original CF amps were made for CF by a company called Precision Power (who I believe is no longer in business).

If you post what you are specifically looking for, the members here will be glad to point you in the correct direction (not tell you where to go!!!), whether from CF or elsewhere.

Hope This Helps!!!

TigerHeli is correct. The amplifiers were produced for us by PPI (Precision Power). PPI has a long standing reputation for absolutely incredible build quality and performance. PPI did go out of business, however I was surprised to see a current website up and running for them just now after running a google search. I can't tell if they currently have anything in production, but clearly the website is being funded and maintained somehow. I looked for 2009 line-ups, but only saw a brochure for 2007 products on their amplifier page.

Over the years we have had many request to bring these back, and I know the idea has been talked about, but we still have no plans to make a future run as it stands now. I'm not sure just how feasible the venture was originally which could be why it has not happened again. I however would also love to see them come back.

I don't mean to rain on the parade and I could well be wrong, but depending on how long ago PPI went out of business, the new website and company might just be someone that bought the naming rights and domain rights and logo - or the logo might even be considered public domain now - the new amps could be manufactured by Pyle with the PPI logo on them for all we know until someone buys and reviews them.

Of course, that can be true even with companies that haven't been out of the market for a long time - Budweiser isn't really an American beer anymore (A.G.Busch was sold to the company that makes Lowenbrau (which I don't think has been German for 20 years)), although I think it's still made here with the same formula.

FWIW ....

Hope This Helps!!!
