I have a reg cab s10 and I was thinking about making 2 wedge boxes one behind each seat and having a 8" Rockford p2 on the ends facing the middle of the truck. There will be about 8 in of space or so in between the subs and I will probably port them. Is it alright to have the subs facing each other?

It is ok to have subs facing each other, but you may run into some issues, depending on the geometry of your truck.

By pointing the subs directly at each other on opposite sides of the truck, you are bound to create standing waves and cancel certain frequencies. This can occur regardless of how you orient them, but will be most prevalent when they are facing each other.

In any case, I would try to angle them so they are slightly off axis from each other (pointing slightly forward or slightly backward, not directly at each other) to avoid the wave cancellations. You will need to play around with the angle to get the best performance in your specific vehicle.
