first sub and amp

i just got speakers and a new headunits for my 2003 dodge intrepid. now i am looking for a new sub and amp. i would like to spend less than $400 and i would like an already enclosed sub. thanks for the help!

Was hard to meet that budget with a good match, but I don't think you can go wrong with these.

If you end up getting a 4ohm enclosed sub, you would probably be more cost effective bridging a 2ch amp. Something like the Hifonics TXI4008 comes to mind, would give you 400W RMS @ 4ohms, and would be much cheaper than the posted Alpine.

That said, if you can find a 2ohm enclosed sub that is capable of handling 500W, that Alpine would look a lot more appealing. Just hard to justify spending money for headroom that you aren't necessarily looking for (500W output at 2ohms), especially on this tight budget.

Consider the info in your OTHER THREAD as well - although it's $510 instead of $400.
