alpine 9887 & external equalizer

does anyone know if an external equalizer can be used with alpine 9887 decks...ive tried 2 eq's both didnt work way too much static

I'm not sure, but I would think they can be used.

Now whether the external EQ is any better quality or even as good as the 9887 internal EQ ....

Anyone else have suggestions?

i'm not sure how you're getting static? external eqs are run the same way as an amp, so if your amps are not getting the static, but your EQ is, you have problems elsewhere. the 9887 will support pretty much anything you throw at it.
