Can I use a HTIB for a pre-wired house? I would route the wires provided with HTIB to run from the system to the pre-hooked up wire panel and the speakers would connected to the wiring. I went to a local electronics store today just to check something out and the guuy told me that you cannot always use HTIB for pre-wired systems. Is that correct?

Which HTIB were you considering for this effort? The person you spoke with was correct, but didn't give you a reason. The reason that some HTIB systems won't work is due to proprietary or "unique" speaker connections. Those unique terminals make those speakers only work with that specific receiver.
Now, a system from Onkyo similar to these HTIB systems will give you the standard speaker connections on the back, allowing you to use the prewired pieces you already have.

Thanks Sroth. What I actually got was a LG LHB953 system. I really like the way it sounds and its features but I have not tried if it will work with the already existing connections.
Any ideas?

What kind of connections are on the speakers? Just a basic wire hookup or an actual plug?
