I had the Fi audio BL 10" sub for about 2 months now. It blew out the other day. My box is 3.2 cubic feet and tuned to 37 hz. a guy who builds boxes for a living built this box. The guys from fi audio said that it was tuned to high first then they say the box is too big it should be tuned to 33 hz and about 1.5 cubic feet. So could that actually be the reason my sub blew?

The reason it blew could be simply sending it frequencies below the tuning frequency.  It is absolutely necessary to use a 24db/octave sub-sonic filter when a sub is used in a ported box.  It should be set no lower than 5 hz below the tuning frequency.  I didn't model the box but it seems like a reasonable enclosure for home audio use.  A bit on the enormous side for a vehicle, but if the box is a good fit than who cares.  Tuning lower could help with deep bass, but the box is so large it's probably doing fine where it is.  You will not have 1000 watt RMS power handling in that large of an enclosure, but the SPL gain is worth the reduced power handling IMHO.
