Here's a story I want others to know about Crutchfield. I purchased a Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2 sound processor, which is a pretty pricey item. It became part of my car sound system, which included other components from different sources, and I had everything installed professionally. I had trouble with the system from the start and had the system checked and rechecked by the installers, got on tech support several times with both Crutchfield and Rockford Fosgate. I was convinced that the 3Sixty.2 was the culprit due to some problems I was having with the bass quality in my system. In the end, I asked Crutchfield to replace the sound processor, which they did. But it didn't solve the problem, and I was pulling my hair out. In desperation, and as unlikely as I thought it would be to solve the problem, I decided to swap out the brand new Alpine sub amplifier that I had purchased from another source -- which turned out to be defective. So I've been very impressed with Crutchfield service and that I appreciate the way the company stood by its product. They made a loyal customer out of me.
I agree. I bought a Westinghouse 42"LCD for my brother. He set it up today and unfortunately it had a stuck/deadpixel in the middle of the screen. The pixel is stuck on red, so it's very noticeable. He called Crutchfield and they are sending him another set. On a side note there is a program (freeware) called UdPixel. http://udpix.free.fr/ This program targets stuck/dead pixels and attempts to fix them by rapid fire color changes to the affected area. Worth a try as a last resort.
vuch
just wanted to add a little to this thread, I just made my first purchase from Crutchfield yesturday. I drove to the store in Charlottesville VA, (3 hours one way). I must say that the service I got there is definatly the best of any I got shoping for a stereo. The Sales Advisor Ted took a real interest in making sure that I had exactly what I needed. Definatly 5 out of 5 stars there. I'll be shoping with this company for all my audio and video needs now.
I just wanted to send out a Thank You to all three of you for posting such positive things about your experience with Crutchfield. It is always good to hear.
We'll be passing your comments on to the specific departments.
