OK. I decided to build a new box for my two 15" Rockford Fosgate T1s. I originally had them in a pair of slot ported boxes just built to Fosgate's "optimum specifications". The problem with that is they don't know what vehicle I'm driving or what kind of bass I am looking for. So, I thought I'd try to get more out of them by having a box designed with that stuff in mind. Got the design from Pete Kulicki (google him, he knows his $hit!)
Here's what I was running...
Here's the new design....
Now for the build pics...
I still need to finish the amp rack and the boxes for the rear fill speakers. If you're interested in a more detailed build log you can check it out here. If it doesn't take you right there, it's under Forums...PWK design work logs...Dual T1 15's in a Ram Quad Cab.

Thanks. It does sound better and louder. The old boxes were very peaky. The new one has a more flat response.
I've got an AudioControl Epic 160 that has a db meter built in. It isn't that accurate but it does read a couple digits higher now than it did before and the new box moves much more air. I haven't recorded any hair tricks yet but it will do them.
Man I wish you lived a couple thousand miles closer ;) I would love to hear it!
Hopefully by the end of summer I will have enough green to get a Fi Q 18" for my Tacoma, I think that will finally fulfill my SPL desires :)
What exactly does the AudioControl do? I thought it had something to do with phasing but I'm not sure...
The AC Epic 160 is a bass processor that mounts in the dash. It basically takes songs with higher bass and electronically drops it so you can litterally make any music boom.
It also has a display that shows db's (it has a built in mic) and voltage. I usually don't use the bass enhancement because the music I listen to mostly already has deep bass but the display is always on.
That AudioControl looks really nice. How much of a difference does it make in the bass output? Does it increase the bass a lot or just make it sound lower? Does it really make $200 worth of a difference?
It actually does both. It has a level adjustment so when it is turned on you can crank it up or down. Other than that it is really cool to take songs that aren't intended to have bass and add it. For example, Carrie Underwood bumps in my truck.......(I like the sound of that )
I think it was worth the price. The db meter is something I'm always looking at.....finding out what songs hit the highest numbers. Which windows down, how far....things like that. Also, the voltmeter lets me keep a realtime eye on my voltage.
Sounds like its time to save up some more money
Also wondering, how does the half-din size work out? Did you have to modify your plate and make your own mounting spot for it?
