2009 Mini Cooper S

There are 3 speakers in the front, 6, 4, and 1. When I select my cars information it's only giving me 6's and 1's and say the 4's don't fit??? Aren't there any 3way components for the Mini?

Specs that I have are as follows:

Infinity Speakers producing a 'tearing/static' sound

System: Alpine CDA-9886 Headunit, Infinity Reference 6022i's, Infinity Basslink Sub

The Alpine HU is set at +1 Bass, +2 Treble. Most bass comes from the Basslink Sub (this puppy rocks!) But, when I get my volume on the Alpine up to about 8 or 9+, the Infinity door speakers make a rashing static, distorted sound.....similar to listening to a faintly tuned FM station..really scratchy, that overtakes the audio and sounds like mush with great bass.

There's not much bass coming into these speakers and this distortion is in the mid range sounds such as vocals and guitar solo type sounds. The tweeters don't seem to be overloaded, this is in the mid range. I get this on CD's, Tuner, Satellite Tuner and iPod/USB inputs.

I will be doublechecking this weekend that the +/- on the speaker wiring is correct. Any thoughts out there??? Thanks!!

I have alpine type r subs that are wired in parallel with an audioque 1200D amp, i also have Alpine SPR-17S in the front with Alpine SPR-17C speakers in the back. I have an alpine cda 9884 headunit. Im going to be getting a Alpine MRP-F300 to power the component speakers soon, my question tho is should i consider buying a capacitor?

New speakers with an existing sub/amp

In my 2006 scion tc, I've already got a JL Audio w3ve 10" sub with a JL Audio G2250 amp and am looking into upgrading my factory speakers in the car. Would I have to buy another amp if I did this or would my G2250 amp be enough? I don't understand all this peak power, RMS, wattage, etc. stuff so someone please explain this to me. Also, if I don't need to get a new amp, whats the highest power (or wattage or whatever) speakers could I get?

Will the Infinity Kappa series 6.5" component speakers handle a punch 500a2? They say they are RMS:90W and the max power:270W. I don't want to take a chance on plowing them!

I just recently installed new 6.5 pioneers in the front of my 2002 subaru forester. After that The Subwoofer that i have in the back wont put out like it was before. Kind of funny since the Subwoofer is powered by its own 750watt amplifier and is wired to the deck with the RCA cables. any suggestions?

Speaker Matchup for Onkyo TX-NR5007

I am very interested in purchasing the Onkyo TX-NR5007 receiver and am having trouble deciding on decent speakers that will match up well with the TX-NR5007 . The room is about 18 x 12 and my budget is about $1,500 for a complete speaker system (Front, center, back, woofer). Can anyone recommend a speaker system would be a good match for this receiver? Components for my 2000 Honda Civic Coupe

I'm in the process of picking out some gear for my 2000 Honda Civic Coupe. I plan on using some components up front and some 6x9's for rear fill. I'm pretty much sold on the Alpine Type X speakers, but need to do some additional research on their fitment. I've taken the door panel apart on my car to check out the stock set up. Behind the stock speaker, and attached to the door panel, is a moisture/rain guard that's part of the door panel. I plan on mounting the tweeters above the woofer via the supplied "coax" setup material. I'm just concerned that if I have to use a spacer, I may run into the issue of the tweeter hitting the stock grill. Looking for some feedback on that. I'd like to stick with a set of components that allow me to mount them coax style as well. I'm not interested in using Q-Logic Pods or mounting a tweeter via drilling/cutting holes in my door panel.

Also, I'm open to feedback regarding other speakers. I listened to some JL, Bostons and Alpines in a sound room (can recall all of the models for each) and preferred the sound of the Alpines. My older vehicle had a set of MB Quart references (roughly 10 year old models) to give you an idea on what I'm coming from. I plan on using an amp to power the speakers and am eyeing up the Alpine PDX 4.100, but am open to other suggestions on that as well.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Rockford Fosgate Speakers

Ok, so I want to put 6x5 Rockford Punch Series Components in the front, and Rockford Punch Series 6x5 speakers in the rear. Then 2 Rockford 12" P2's in the trunk. With a Jensen flip-out monitor (puts out 13 rms x 4). To power the subs I'm gonna go with the Rockford P500-1, and to power the speakers the Rockford P200-2. Both sets of speakers handle 120 rms per set. So the P200-2 would send 100 rms x 2 @ 2ohms giving each speaker 50 rms. Plus the 13 rms from the head unit.

1. Can a 2-channel amp be ran to power 4 speakers?

2. If so will that 2-channel amp plus the 13 rms from the Jensen be ok to run?

3. Will 2 amps call for a high output alternator or anything? I had planned on most likely getting a Rockford 1 farad cap to go with the 500-1 amp.

The car would be a 1990 Honda CRX Si.

Kenwood KFC 6982ie 6X9 QUESTION

I am looking at buying some of the Kenwood KFC 6982ie 6X9's! They claim that they are 500 watt flush mounts. I have a Rockford Fosgate punch 500,will this combo work? Also they say they are flush mount,I have a Ram 2500 and I am concerned about the windows being able to clear these! These are 5 way 6X9's! Please help!

Tacoma Speakers

Crutchfield recommendations for my 2006 Tacoma standard cab list only two sony 6.5" speakers. I'd like to install the Polk DB651 speakers but was told they would not work. I just had a new head unit installed and the installer said there was 2.44" depth in the door and at least an inch from the speaker mount to the grill. A Polk technician sent a picture of the speaker and the total depth from the back of the mounting bracket is 1.96". From the top of the mounting bracket to the top of the tweeter it's .86". It seems to me that the speaker would fit. Am I missing something here? Has anyone mounted these speakers and can fill me in? Thanks.

Wanting to add some bass via the rear doors

I’m wondering if I could add a little bass to my system in the rear doors. I have Polk Audio DB571in the front and had planned on adding the same thing to the rear doors, but I’m wondering if there is a different speaker that would add a bit more bass. I know this might be a silly question, but are there any subwoofers that would fit? I’m willing to alter the door if needed.

I'm just looking to make the sound a little richer/fuller. I'm not looking for a lot of thump.

Any ideas? I don’t have an amp, but would be willing to add one.

If that can't be done what's a good option for the trunk again just looking to make the sound fuller/richer.

Is it safe to over power the speaker from the amp??? will it not break/blow out the speaker? for e.g i want to amp my speaker rms rating 100W from an amp that producing 125W rms. thanks in advance

Im looking to upgrade my factory system with new speakers and a new receiver. Im looking for something that can reach the highs and lows with a little kick, but on a budget. I can spend around $500 now, but im planning to add subs and an amp later on down the road.

Any suggestions?

Hey guys, I have a question.

I have a pair of Alpine type-s sps600's

They are mounted high on the rear deck of my car where the OEM location is (97 saturn sc2). These have aimable tweeters and I was wondering which direction would be the optimal direction for a wide soundstage? I have played around with angles but I couldn't hear a difference since I kept moving back and fourth. Now keep in mind that the rear window is right there on an angle /= and that is most definitely reflecting the sound. So do I want them aimed back to the window so it reflects the sound that way or do I want them aimed forward towards the front of the car?

So any ideas?

2007 Hyundai Sonata

I have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata without the factory subwoofer and I have looked into replacing my stock factory speakers. I have the aftermarket speakers already but when I went to take the door panels off I found that Hyundai had placed the stock speakers in a plastic spacer that is rivetted to the door. I have heard of people drilling through the rivets and replacing the plastic unit and drilling it back into the door... that seems like a lot of work. I am not quite sure why hyundai produced there sonata's like this, I am frustrated that a quick 1 hour job is now turning into an all day event. I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of how to replace the speakers without drilling the rivets out, or a way of drilling them out that isnt going to be time consuming.

Phoenix Gold RSD65cs speaker spacer issues

I am trying to install these speakers on my 96 accord ex and found out I needed to buy spacers to fit them. I have bought two sets of spacers already with both claiming to fit 6.5 inch speakers. However, each pair of spacers did not fit over the Phoenix Gold RSD6.5cs woofer. The spacers are stuck with about half an inch of the speaker mounting holes.

Is the PG set of speakers require a different spacer size? I do not have the tools or skills to make my own spacer sadly.

Looking for decent door speakers

I just added some new subs to my car, and they are over powering my stock speakers.

I have a old 4 channel amp I can use to power the door speakers, but I want some that are loud and clear for a decent price, not really looking for a bunch of bass for them.

I have a 06 VW Passat Withought Dynaudio system. Would brand do you reccomend?

All right i own a 2001 mustang with a JL 12in Sub in the trunk, Hitron HA-1000.2 amp 2 channel MOSFET. I dont have the MACH system. And i have an Alpine CDE-103 deck. Im looking to spend about btween 100 and 150 on the speakers i listen mainly to rap and R&B. Looking for best "rear deck" speakers.
