With the new harnesses replacing the radio in a MACH mustang is no longer much of an issue.

You do need pre-amp outputs, and probably preferably subwoofer pre-amp outputs.

As far as that screen goes, I haven't heard of XO Vision, but I'd be a little leery of a DVD touchscreen monitor that retails for under $250, but I don't have any other information to go on.

I also saw that the flip screen could cause problems in some installations, but don't know if the Mustang would be affected.

I believe the 6000 has the graphics and the 5000 does not. CF will let you swap it out within 30 days, if it's worth it to you.

just to confirm. Splice the new HU harness into the CF harness, all colors should match up for front and rear speakers, red, yellow and ground etc.. Then the subwoofer RCAs from the CF harness go to the subwoofer preouts on your new HU, and you have to hook up the remote antenna/amp turn on blue wire from your HU to both of the blue/white wires from the CF subwoofer connector (just splice them together 2 into 1) so all blue wires are conected to each other. There are definitely 2 amps, and both need to be powered up when you turn on your new HU. My Mustang sounds awesome. By the way, I got the Pioneer DEH-P5000UB. Nice unit except I thought it would have some type of graphics on the display like most other Pioneer units I have had. This model is 2 lines of text only. Nice blue display though.

this thread somehohw got way off track. Anyhow, back to this topic. Aftermarket HU and stock Mach 460 amps and speakers. I just installed a new Pioneer HU last nite, had the same problem as another person with hardly any or no bass or volume. I got the CF harness (2 pcs.) one for the main unit power, speakers, Illumination, etc. and the other pc. is for the subwoofer pre outs. Both plug into the factory Ford harnesses. Well, hooking up the subwoofer RCAs alone does not work. You need to hook the blue (antenna/amp turn on) from your new HU to the 2 blue/whites which are part of the CF subwoofer harness. There should be 2 blue/white wires and 2 black/white wires (which I did not even hook up). The blue/white wires turned on the amps just fine. Just some simple splicing is all that is needed. This will enable your aftermarket HU to turn on the factory amps, and all should work fine. I will be pulling mine out again tonite b/c I think my radio antenna came unplugged when I slid the HU into the chassis (no stations this morning)...but CDs sound awesome. All speakers play loud and have bass and I'm happy with that CF harness kit. Made the installation pretty easy. I have to admit tho, the instructions are pretty lame since they don't tell you that you HAVE to hook up the power turn on wiring. It just shows you a daigram and you have to assume which wires need to be hooked up.

No - I'm not sure what the problem is there - you could maybe try adding line drivers on the RCA outputs from the HU.

i just installed an avic-d3x on my 03 mustang with mach 460 and i also noticed the lost of bass from the subwoofers and too much bass on the tweeters so i am thinking of buying bass blockers for the tweeters but i dont know which cut off frequency to buy can you guys give me your opinion? and how did you regain the bass for the subwoofers?
