I was curious if anyone had any specs on this new cable. Supposedly it works with Iphone (Original and 3G) and will display video along with controlling the ipod functions. My question is will this cable work with an older Kenwood unit like say the KVT 719DVD. Mine still works and I'd rather not drop another 900 bucks just to have the latest model. Thanks for looking into this!

John

Ipod Touch won't play through car speakers?

I use a http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127ICPIOP/PAC-iPod-Adapter-for-Pioneer.html?search=pac&tp=120 to connect to my pioneer CD player to play music in my car. It worked fine on my nano but for some reason it's not playing or charging the ipod touch (2nd Gen). I read it wouldn't charge the touch, but I'm having a hard time figuring out why it won't play the touch through the car speakers. It only plays it through the ipod speakers. Anyone know if there are any settings on the ipod touch that need adjusting or why this adapter won't play it.

I've been using this http://www.crutchfield.com/p_023IPODCBL/Blaupunkt-iPod-Connector-Cable.html?search=Blaupunkt+VENDORID023&searchdisplay=Blaupunkt without any problems with my 5.5G iPod. Recently I tried an iPhone 3G and it wouldn't charge or play music through my car speakers but instead a message popped out saying "charging is not supported with this accessory." and the music played thru the internal speakers of the iPhone 3G. Same thing happened when I tried an iPod Touch 2G. I understand this is because of the new circuitry used in the newer models of the iPhone, iPod Nano 4G and iPod Touch 2G.

I found out about the Scosche passPORT that would help charge the new gen ipods but will it enable playback through my cars speakers? Reason is, I'd like to buy a new iPod Touch but would only do so if it could work in my car.

Any assistance would be much appreciated!

I connected my iPod to the headunit and now it doesn't recognize it. All it says is Disconnected when I go to the iPod source, it doesn't even charge the iPod.. It was working fine until I pressed the reset button so there has to be something off that isn't allowing the HU to recognize the iPod.

Also when the iPod is plugged in I can hear the music if I press play on the iPod. Could there be a loose connection, or do you think it is a setting?

Can anyone please help me out here this is dangerous enough looking down at the iPod while driving. This just happened earlier today and it's getting me frustrated. I'm not sure if the reset has anything to do with the problem but that's when I noticed it. I tried it on 2 different ipods and still nothing. Also I have the latest firmware 2.4.0.

Could a loose connection be the problem? I was getting the usb plug and I might have tugged on the iPod Connector wire, or is the iPod cable itself somehow defective? I have no clue what is going on.

Is it possible try updating the firmware or even repairing it? I'm hoping to get this problem fixed real soon so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Receiver recommendations for iPhone 3G

The car adapter for my old FM transmitter for my iPod Nano broke over the weekend.

It must also be able to accept two sets of headphones. My ideal system would be the Alpine PKG RSE2:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500PKGRSE2/Alpine-PKG-RSE2.html?tp=77

But it is way too expensive for what it is, especially after a $90 iPod adapter is added – it’s not a good value. But that would be the ideal system. Then there are the Valor overhead video screens, much better price but can I hook up an iPod Touch and two pairs of headphones?

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_077RM1400/Valor-RM-1400-Gray.html?tp=77

The other alternative would be one of the Sony portable DVD players, like this one:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158FX930L/Sony-DVP-FX930-Blue.html?tp=78&tab=detailed_info

but I'm not sure if I could play a movie or TV show off of an iPod Touch on it's display, but the price is really good… Heck, I could buy two of these portable Sony DVD players and two iPods for what it would cost for the Alpine unit. I also looked at the headrest video displays – interesting, but also too expensive for what they are. Just not a good value. By the way, I am waiting for the third generation of iPod touch which should be announced / released in September. Any ideas or suggestions?

Peripheral Ipod Adapter for 2005 Tahoe

I recently purchased a Peripheral Ipod Adapter for my 2005 Tahoe. The installation involved splicing wires on the stock stereo which scares me a little. Anyone have experience in installing one of these in a Tahoe (or similar vehicle that involves splicing the wires?). Details on how to do this and which wires to splice would be great. I have installed one of these in my Jeep Cherokee but no splicing was involved. It works great in my Jeep by the way.

Then the iphone certainly asked me whether I want to switch to the airplane mode, and I said no. The music played immediately, HOWEVER the iphone could not charge (i.e. no lightening symbol), as well as 5900IB showed the message "error a0" with no playlist showing up. I could still change the song by using the navigation button (i.e. by clicking the wheel left or right side) though. Is there any possible solution to this problem?

I don't really want to connect the iphone to this car stereo via AUX, since the sound quality it could provide was obviously inferior to the direct connection through CD-I200.

Any suggestion, idea or even rumor on this will be really appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm looking for a decently priced receiver that displays unicode (asian characters) and has HD Radio Built in.
I have a Pioneer DEH-P4900IB hu and an ipod touch 2nd/gen. I have read in the reviews and hands on research that the Pioneer CD-i200 IP-Bus cable will control but not charge the touch. I then looked at the Scoshe passport which is supposed to fix this problem but the hands on research says it wont. My question simply put is why wont the Scoshe passport attached to the Pioneer CD-i200 cable charge the ipod touch? Wasnt this why the passport was designed?

Apple iphone 3g for Pioneer DEH-P7300

I have an Apple iphone 3g and I would like to connect it to my Pioneer DEH-P7300. Is there anyway that I can do this?
I have a Deh-7300 and I wanted to know if there was a way to connect the ipod to the reciever. I searched over and over for a Aux port, but I cant seem to find one. But there is an AUX option on the reciever. When I search the bach of the reciever's wireing, I see two cords that look like an AUX jack, but it's for the telephone (both of them). So what it comes down to is why is there an AUX option for the reciever, but no aux port? and if so how do I use it. Cause the telephone port has an telephone option. Please help me dude. I really don't want to spend 150 for a freakin' radio transmitter...haha

Thanks,
