I would find the monitor system the best suits your needs/budget and not concern yourself with a model that has “iPod Specific” capabilities. As long as the monitor offers and external video source input (Just about all aftermarket systems do) you could use the simple Apple Composite Video Cable to connect almost and video capable iPod to the monitor system.

This cable even offers the USB connection so you can charge the iPod with a DC to USB car charger.

I hope that helps.

Re: Video screen that can hook up to an iPod Touch, and accepts two sets of headphones?

I'm pretty behind-the-times on this aspect, but let me ask the question another way:

Do you know if the iPod touch can ouput composite video easily?

If so, I think you could use most any screen (with those inputs, but most would support that).

Hope This Helps!!!

Anyone else have suggestions?

Video screen that can hook up to an iPod Touch, and accepts two sets of headphones?

In a nutshell I want a screen in my car (Mazda5) that I can hook an iPod Touch up to and play videos off of the iPod Touch, for kids in the backseat. It must also be able to accept two sets of headphones. My ideal system would be the Alpine PKG RSE2:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500PKGRSE2/Alpine-PKG-RSE2.html?tp=77

But it is way too expensive for what it is, especially after a $90 iPod adapter is added – it’s not a good value. But that would be the ideal system. Then there are the Valor overhead video screens, much better price but can I hook up an iPod Touch and two pairs of headphones?

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_077RM1400/Valor-RM-1400-Gray.html?tp=77

The other alternative would be one of the Sony portable DVD players, like this one:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158FX930L/Sony-DVP-FX930-Blue.html?tp=78&tab=detailed_info

but I'm not sure if I could play a movie or TV show off of an iPod Touch on it's display, but the price is really good… Heck, I could buy two of these portable Sony DVD players and two iPods for what it would cost for the Alpine unit. I also looked at the headrest video displays – interesting, but also too expensive for what they are. Just not a good value. By the way, I am waiting for the third generation of iPod touch which should be announced / released in September. Any ideas or suggestions?
