Orion HCCA has gotten good reviews on here as well.

Also, I assume you knew this, but you can't typically power one sub with two amps unless they are special, identical, and strappable amps. Pioneer has some of these, as do I believe US Amps, Soundstream, and Power Acoustik, but I am going from memory on that.

If you're looking to put up some impressive SPL numbers, these subs are probably the best SPL sub you can get on Crutchfield. Pioneer used these subs in their SPL vehicles to become the first manufacturer to ever break the 180db barrier in SPL competiton. The downside to these subs (if you can call it that) is that they need some serious power behind them and they weigh a TON (the 12" is 70-something pounds). Even if you're just running one 12" sub- make sure your vehicle's charging system can handle the load- and that you've got the amplifier power to give the sub what it needs.

pioneer subs are not the best choice if you are looking for top of the line. i would recommend the kicker solo x if you really want power or definately the hifonics OLM2412. hifonics and kicker have a reputation for being the some of the best in the business, while pioneer are mainly entry level. you can tell whether a sub will perform if you compare the rms rating to the peak rating. look for the rms to be half of the peak, that way you know the sub means business. same for speakers and amps. pioneer gear rarely if ever have any rms ratings half of their peaks.. <Mod Edit: Removed competitor reference. Thanks.> look at the hifonics sub. memphis audio are extremely good also. you will need an alternator upgrade, as in more than 2 high output alternators. as well as a battery rack to power the monster amps. capacitors are a coverup if you dont upgrade the charging system.. oh, and dont forget you will need to upgrade your front and rear stage to keep up with all that basss gimme an email if you do need any help or advice, id be happy to help, however i am located in australia

Since I am thinking about buying a new amp, I wondered if I should finally go for the gold and get the top of the line equipment. About every two years I buy new, louder subs trying to satisfy my bass addiction. I'm just wondered if anyone has ever heard these speakers in action. They can definetly handle a boat load of power. I would imagine I would have to buy 2 amps (or one huge one) and a capacitor. Would 1 of these 12" subs sound a world different than two $200 12" subs, and make it worth the money or would I have to buy 2 of them? What do you think?
