Minor thread hi-jack here, but I have a Big 3 question myself:

The big 3 is:

Alternator to Battery Postive.

Alternator GND or Engine block to body ground

Battery Negative to body GND.

Shouldn't there really be a big 4:

Battery Negative to Engine/Alternator GND.

In theory, I think the negative wire to the starter does this and the battery to frame and frame to engine does the same thing - but it seems like the above would/could be desirable.

Thanks!

Re: Help with The Big Three

Making your connections directly to the battery (both alt+ and chassis ground) will give you the most benefit, especially if you are trying to upgrade to 1/0 gauge wire.

As long as the current connections to the battery are not the limiting factor (smaller gauge wire than the upgrade big 3 wire) then you should be fine. If they are, then I would spend the time to do it right the first time.

Help with The Big Three

Hello everyone

I drive a 2003 Chrysler Sebring Convertible and I have a question about one wire from the big three upgrade. My car has the battery hidden somewhere in the front bumper, and to access it, is a lot of pain. My two amplifiers run off the positive jumpstart cable. Will it harm my car or be inefficient if I conect the alternator-battery wire to the positive jumpstart cable (where my two amps are connected) or I must connect it to the battery?

Thank you.
