Im installing a new speaker set in a 1992 Honda prelude. Ive already installed dynamat throughout the body and i recently discovered that my kicker componet speakers 6 1/2 front were 2ohms and my polk 6 1/2 3 way speakers in the back were 4ohm. I plan on amplifying these however because of the ohm difference I dont know what type of amp i should get? or how i fix the difference at least.

Please Help!

As long as the amp you get for the front speakers is 2ohm stereo stable , you'll be fine.

As the person above said, as long as the amp is 2-ohm stable (almost everything is these days) and you don't run any weird wiring configurations (ie "mixed mode"), then you should be fine.  Make sure your 2-ohm speakers are wired to a different amplifier channel than the 4-ohm speakers.  Wiring them in parallel to the same amplifier channel can cause some odd things to happen.

The arrangement you describe will work in your favor (2-ohm in front). The speakers up front will tend to be more efficient and pull the imaging to the front where it should be.

They aren't really more efficient, they just draw more power out of the amp b/c they are 2-ohm.

Just match the RMS power of the amp at 2-ohms to the front speakers and at 4-ohms to the rear speakers and you will be good.

Hope This Helps!!!
