i was wondering since i have a reciever with only 1 set of pre-outs, and i want to hook up a 6 channel amp with 3 sets of pre-outs, 1 being a sub pre-out, how would i go about doing this? i was always used to having enough pre-outs to hook up the rca's that it was just plug-n-play. im kinda stuck on this one and was wondering if someone can give me some advice on it. thanks

You could use some RCA "Y-adapters" to split the single output of your receiver to the multiple inputs of the new amplifier. (Keep in mind; this option splits the pre-amp signal level and will result in a lower signal to noise ratio.) For better sound quality and performance, I recommend adding an active crossover or external equalizer. These options can accept the single pair of pre-outs from your stereo and provide the additional outputs for the new amplifier.

I hope that helps.

Anyone else have a good recommendation?

I cover part of this in this thread

If you use Y-adapters, you will lose the ability to fade or independently adjust the front, rear, and sub outputs, so I don't recommend this.

If your amp has speaker-level inputs, you can use those - if not, you will want a line-level converter.
