I recently recived the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD headunit. im pretty sure ive hooked everything up correctly. ive got the batt. to batt. speaker wire to speaker wire, etc. i did however leave a few cords loose but i dont see how that would affect my head unit turning on, i left the parking braker wire unhooked, the reverse gear signal input unhooked, and the mute cord unhooked. Also, i attached the illumination wire to the dimmer and the illumination wire because both were orange. another thing was the black wire (ground) had a ring terminal pre-assembled to it, and the black wire for the adapter did not, so i cut off the terminal and just attached both black wires. if anyone has any idea on what i could do to get my headunit working id love to hear it cause this is one BA headunit id love to get installed ASAP!
thanks.
things sound correctly installed... just ummm.. check fuses.. to see if you blew any and double and triple check all your wiring.. :D .. thats the best i can think of right now.. also.. maybe grab an DMM and check if you are getting 12V at the red power cable on the harness. :D
JVC KD-AVX44, jl audio 12 inch W1v2, alpine mrp-m500 , JBL GT5-652 fronts, audiobahn dub269's in rear deck, 4 gauge kit, voltage displaying fused distribution block:D .. all wired on my own. :D
The red wire should be hooked to constant power. The yellow wire should be hooked to switched power. The orange wire should be connected to the illumination car wire and not the dimmer car wire - but I don't think that's the problem.
Hope This Helps!!!
