Ok, I just learned that for vented boxes the "subsonic filter" is necessary for your woofers. Therefore I've narrowed my search down to Pioneer and Kenwood.

I'd like to stay with both Kenwood subs and amp or Pioneer subs and amp, but I'd like to hear what the experts have to say.

I KNOW that the Kenwood KAC-X10D amplifier has the subsonic filter (correct me if I'm wrong, but is it also known as a infransinc filter?). Perhaps this amp doesn't have it, but that's what I'm posting to find out. :) And I want to hook the Kenwood KFC-XW1200F subwoofers to it.

My other option is the Pioneer GM-D8400M (does it have the subsonic filter?). I'd hook the Pioneer TS-SW3041D subwoofers to it.

Or perhaps the Kenwood with the Pioneer subs would be best? I'm not sure. I'm asking you guys as the experts here what would be best.

And obviously I'm planning on putting them in vented boxes.

Thanks!!

Forgot to add, I was also considering the 10" version of those woofers with those amplifiers. But probably would rather push the 12"s.

Most quality amps have subsonic filters built in, but only a few have a variable one. I would look for an amp with a variable subsonic filter with the lowest setting around 25 hz. You can't hear under that, so what's the point of sending it to the sub ?

Cool

Ok, well could you tell me if the Rockford Fosgate P5002 (that's the exact model number, don't confuse it for the P500-2) has a built in subsonic filter? Because in another post, there was a Rockford amp that did not have the subsonic filter in it.

Like I said, I did not know how to tell if that was the same thing as the "subsonic filter"... But thank you.

What about the Pioneer amplifier?

No, I don't see a subsonic filter on the Pioneer.

Thank you Ninja. I'm afraid to get a used amp, but really it's the only way I can afford a nice Fosgate amp to push the subs. And I'm not sure if I use the Fosgate P5002 with the 12" shallows if it'll push them correctly.
