I just bought a truck and noticed that it has a sirius radio antennea on the roof. It is obvious that it was installed as an aftermarket. I have the Pioneer DEH-9800BT that I am going to install in this truck,I've never had sattelite radio and want it,can I utilize the existing antennea and cable. I believe the cable is up by my sun visor. PLEASE HELP!

Since it is an aftermarket Sirius antenna, I recommend grabbing the Pioneer Sirius tuner package (only sold with antenna, so you will have a back up) option. While it is possible to use a Sirius antenna with a XM tuner, it is not the best performance wise. Sirius and XM antennas use the same basic principles, except that they are balanced differently for satellite direct and repeater signals.

I don't see any reason why not. There is nothing proprietary about satellite radio antennas in terms of functionality.

As long as the connector on the aftermarket antenna (if it was left attached to the cable) mates to whatever Sirius tuner you get, you should be fine.

Sirius "ready" means it will work with the aftermarket Sirius tuner - which you would also need to purchase.

Hope This Helps!!!
