Over powering speakers

Is it safe to over power the speaker from the amp??? will it not break/blow out the speaker? for e.g i want to amp my speaker rms rating 100W from an amp that producing 125W rms. thanks in advance

Essentially, too little power is fine, too much power or too little power with the gain up and a clipped signal will damage the speaker, and generally a bit over is better than a bit below RMS power.
