cd player and amp

I had a buddy come over today and he told that his amp isn't working ( i don't the amp model # but its a kenwood with a  kenwood kdc-mp332 deck). I asked him simple questions like is the battery hooked up the ground is grounded good and the remote wire was hooked. He said yes to all question. So I proceeded to look myself. I saw the he did hook it up a blue wire, but a blue wire going to the diffferent wiring harness. So I hooked it up the blue wire and it work. This is the strange thing, when it played the radio (tuner) it worked fine, but when you switched it to the cd player the amp died. So I looked the wiring config and saw that it was to go to the blue/white wire tryed and it worked for a moment then stop. I got confesse and he told me to just put it on the blue and we will deal with it later.

I need help!!!!I'm confessed why when you turn on the cd put I get no power from the amp, and why the blue/ white wire doesn't seem to always like a remote wire should

if the remote wire does not put out 12+volts at all times to turn the amp on.the cd player might be bad

The blue wire on that HU is for the power antenna wire (amp only works with the AM/FM turner selected).

The blue/white wire is supposed to work with the power amplifier.

Perhaps the manual had a typo or perhaps you accidentally connected it to the blue instead of blue/white.

If the blue wire is not putting out 12V when the radio is on, you might need to run a fuse tap and wire the amp to a circuit that comes on when the ignition is in ON or ACC.
