TH-42PZ77U, purchased Dec 2007 -- got the "7 blinking lights (power LED)" problem late Friday night (Apr 25th). Note that it's a few months past its 1-year factory warranty..

After I found all the posts about this problem on the Web , on Sat morning I called the Panasonic "VIERA Concierge" toll-free service number (on the product documentation). The rep instructed me to fax in a copy of my purchase receipt to "Attn: Team 10", with a note on it describing the problem -- someone is supposed to contact me within 72 hours (starting fr today, Monday, not Sat when I called)

Although the rep did not promise that Panasonic would cover the cost of repair, he did acknowledge that it is a known problem. However, it would be up to "Team 10" to determine whether it would be covered, based on the info I faxed in and I guess based on their technician's inspection...

Anyway,  other posters on the Web about the same problem (and also just out of warranty) seem to indicate that Panasonic has done the right thing -- I hope they do, 'cuz I've otherwise been happy with Panny products and this TV in particular.

I'll try to post updates as the process unfolds...

This link is no longer valid. Any idea if there is another site with same detail?

We had this identical thing happen to us just this morning!! So incredibly frustrating since we too are just out of our 1yr. warranty by a few months. We watched our TV as usual  last night and then went to bed. This morning my husband goes down to turn on the weather channel and is greeted with the dreaded "7 blinking lights."

I'm hoping everything works out. It seems like this is a trending problem with Panasonic. We love this TV and just purchased it a little over a year a go. I think it's kind of rediculous to have it fail so suddenly. There wasn't any sort of warning either. Worked just fine and then did not work this morning. We contacted Panasonic after doing some internet research and seeing so many problems with the 7 light power supply issue. They just had us fax in our receipt and information and gave us 24hrs before any contact from them would be made. The rep. said first they have to troubleshoot the issue with us over the phone before they can send a tech person out to evaluate. We have our fingers crossed! We love this TV and bought it because of it's high consumer ratings—we never saw anything about this problem until it happened to us.

Can anyone help me out with a phone number for Panasonic support? I bought a 50" plasma (50PZ700U) from Best Buy back 12/2007. Well, my TV has shut down on me for good and giving me a 6 blink error code??? This TV has worked flawlessly since day one, and hasn't moved from the stand in 15 months. Its been hooked up to a $250 Monster surge protector and all Monster HDMI cables in the back.

I understand that other people are having similar problems, but how are these getting resolved. I didn't buy the extended warranty because the last TV I bought from Best Buy (55" Mitsubishi) worked perfectly for 7 years (with protection plan) and still going strong. I thought the extended warranty was a waste, but I guess i was wrong.

Does anyone know the typical repair costs for replacing boards on the TV? What has everyone been charged? I am really upset with this whole issue and feel like Panasonic needs to help us out. I really feel bad because I recommended this brand to all my friends....

We just purchased a Panasonic 42" TC-P42G10 Plasma TV from Crutchfield.  We are about to see how good the service is, because as we were watching tonight, it gave a loud "crack" sound and the picture went blank (black).  The TV will not turn back on.  So it appears the famous Power Supply problem HAS NOT BEEN FIXED and I certainly wouldn't have purchased this TV had I know that.

Mike -

Can you provide the fax number?  I'd love to bypass the bs and fax my info directly to this "team 10"... I have the seven blinking lights after about 1.5 years of ownership.  Didn't get the extended warranty because more often than not it's a waste of money.

Thanks!

I see that this post continues to live after several years.

The fax number is 1-757-382-4437.

Good luck ,they are not easy to deal with. When you call the Concierge number they record everything you say, much like being deposed for a court case.

I had a 7 blink, now have a 10 blink. they don't want to cover the 10 blink even though it came 3 hours after the 7 blink was "fixed"
