  • Sudden Onslaught of Amp Clipping

I have an Alpine MRPK300 Amplifier which was working fine when I pulled my car into the garage. When I left again an hour or so later, the amp was clipping so badly that I could not listen to any audio source except at extremely low volume. The system was bought about a year ago from an unreputable dealer...

  • Looking for expert "OK" so I can pull the trigger on this rig

Alrighty, hi everyone. Looking to improve my sound system with an amplifier. Not running stock at the moment - have an Alpine PLT-5 LAT powered subwoofer in the trunk which kicks out enough bass to please me. I don't need folks from 2 city blocks away being able to hear me coming - but maybe the...

  • Re: How do I bridge MRP-F300? And a question on RCA connection

Thanks Glenvall, But I did not hook up the alpines in the front since I was short on $. :) That's my next project as soon as I find some tweeter adapters. So you think it is because they are powered seperately, there is a slight delay in Bass? At the moment I am using factory amp to power rear, front...

Yes, there definitely should be bass adjustments on the Kenwood. There is also bass boost on the amp. Off for the Alpines and on for the sub ! I would disconnect the cheapo factory tweeters. The Alpines will take care of the highs. You will love that amp.

  • How do I bridge MRP-F300? And a question on RCA connection

I just ordered Alpine MRP-F300 and Rockford Fosgate P2L-110, I would like to keep two channels available for later upgrade of my speakers, and use two channels bridged to power the subwoofer. Do I need to buy anything extra like adapters, etc to bridge the outputs? The manual briefly mentions it but...

  • Alpine amp overheating

Got a alpine mrp-f300 amp to power some infinity speakers that I got The alpine is 4 channels and 75w rms(per channel) at 2-ohms. I figured this would be a pretty good match for my speakers that operate at 2ohms and handle 90w rms(front channels) and 110w rms(rear channels) The amp keeps on overheating...

  • Alpine amp not turning off - draining battery

This is a used amp (Alpine MRP-F240), and I'm suspecting that it is the problem. The remote turn-on lead from the head unit is carrying a constant 0.6 volts even with everything switched off (+12V with head unit "on"). I've confirmed that all of these head units (Porsche / Becker) do this and that it...

  • What Kind Of Amplifier Should I Buy?

Hey everyone. I posted here before when I was upgrading my speakers and received a lot of really helpful advice, so I'm naturally returning with my new situation. I'll explain what I'm looking to do and then post the specifics about my current system: I currently have MB Quart speakers for my front and...

  • Amp Clearification, Need Help...

I have 2 Alpine SWR-1242D subwoofers. And I've been told that I should get two amplifiers, one for each sub. Now, is this really necessary? If I do need 2 amps, I'm planning on getting the Alpine PDX-1.600. If not, I would like to get the JL Audio Slash v2 1000/1v2 to power both subs. If anyone could...

  • Alpine PDX-5 and Alpine CDA 9887

Hello, I had these 2 installed with a JL Audio VR 600 CXi and a subwoofer on the way from Crutchfield since I don't have a sub woofer yet, the sound is a little tiny coming from the 2 pairs of coax for front and rear I have to turn the volume to 22/24 from the CDA 9887 to get a fuller sound. Is there...
