  • Re: Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. + Alpine CDA-9835

Alpine does make an iPod interface that will work with your CDA-9835. It is the Alpine KCA-420i iPod interface . This will allow you to control your iPod through your receiver. However, it does not charge the 2nd generation iPod Touch models. It will only transfer the audio and controls to the receiver...

  • Alpine iDA-X001 Integration in Ford Explorer

Hello- I am a first time poster on the Crutchfield Community Forum page and I admit that I am not the most knowlegeable person when it comes to car audio installation terms so please bear with my ignorance. Does anyone have any idea(s) about how to install an Alpine iDA-X001 head unit in my vehicle while...

  • Alpine X100 - Doesn't shut off Ipod?

I just received this head unit and I love it so far. However, it does not shut off my Ipod after turning off the head unit. The Ipod stays on with the message 'It is safe to disconnect' (which is the message it always has on when the headunit is on). Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • iPod interface errors with Alpine 9884, 9886 (and likely others)

After just completing the installation of an Alpine CDA-9884 I found that the iPod controls were not functioning correctly. When the car is left w/o either pausing the iPod or powering off the Alpine, one of two things happens: 1) The iPod continues to run and is several tracks beyond where I left it...

  • Re: Can I shuffle with Alpines Full Speed Connector?

I have a CDA-9856 from 2006 along with the KCE-422i full speed iPod connecotor, using a 1st gen 4GB nano. You can shuffle with mine. Looks to be the same on the new Alpines as well. Which stereo are you looking at? Most either come with the KCE-422i either already in the box, or as free promotion with...

  • Alpine cde9853 display is not scrolling Ipod info

My Alpine cde-9853 is not scrolling the information of the song that is being played off the Ipod. It would display the song info of the first song when the unit is turned on, but when the songs changes the information would stay still. If the >> button is pressed once then the song information...

  • Alpine CDA-9885 & iPod Classic: Song Limit?

Hey folks, I've got an Alpine CDA-9885 head unit (purchased 10/9/2007) and an 80GB iPod Classic (purchased 1/8/2008 and has the latest firmware). I purchased these two pieces of equipment specifically to be able to have access to my entire music collection in the car and this problem I'm having negates...

  • Re: Alpine CDA-9884 / 9886 iPod "No Song" Error

I am having the exact same problem with my iPod Video (5th gen) and my brand new CDA-9886. I researched this to the ends of the earth, downgraded the firmware on my iPod to the lowest I could find (1.2) and my problem continues. It works fine until I have over 4000 songs and then I get the dreaded "NO...

  • Alpine CDA-9884 / 9886 iPod "No Song" Error

I have experienced a problem where iPod works fine when first attached to CDA-9884 or 9886 receiver. Yet once the care sits for a while when trying to access iPod again, Alpine receiver displays "No Song". If the iPod is unplugged / replugged then the Alpine recognizes it immediately. Note: If I turn...

  • Re: BEST HEAD UNIT RECEIVER THAT WORKS BEST WITH IPOD- I MEAN BEST !!

My personal opinion, currently the Alpine CDA-9885 CD receiver is the best. There is a free iPod interface currently being offered as well. It is fast and easy to navigation. One of the cooler features is the "direct search function". In the search mode, you can skip through percentages of your music...
