You need to do what is known as the Big 3 Upgrade. Larger than stock high quality copper wiring, at least 4 gauge, from battery negative to chassis ground, from engine ground to chassis ground, and from battery positive to alternator positive. Clean any dirt, grease, oil, paint, etc. from grounding points...

I hear you and do not want to go back into a capacitor pros and cons argument or anything like that. I respect your car audio knowledge base. Just wanted to quote this, straight from Crutchfield : The overall response of your audio system will be enhanced with the use of capacitors due to their ability...

A 2 farad cap will work nicely. Use at least 4 gauge wire from battery to cap to amp and also ground. Use an 80 to 100 amp inline fuse as close to the battery as possible. Rock on !

I have a 1999 nissan maxima and I am putting 2 15" solo baric L7 subs in the trunk. These subs are 1000 watts RMS and 2000 watts peak, they are also dual 2 ohm voice coil. I am using 2 MTX Thunder Elite TE1501D amplifiers that will see a one ohm load so they will be able to produce 1500 watts rms per...

A capacitor is more like a buffer. If you notice your lights dimming a bit at night when your bass hits, then you could get a 2 farad capacitor and that should fix the issue. We offer the Tsunami Lite Wave 2.0 farad capacitor for this purpose. However, if your lights dim and you notice that things like...

I just installed my first capacitor a couple of days ago. I have an Alpine MRP-M1000 that has 1/0 running from the battery to a distribution block. I have 4 gauge running from the block to the cap, cap to amp, and amp/cap to ground distribution block. Then I have 1/0 running from the ground block to...

i am not too experienced with car audio other than just swapping head units. my question is: 1) if i am going to hook my sub up to my PYLE pla600 (600 watt, 2 channel) amp, do i need to wire up my aftermarket door speakers in my vehicle, just run aftermarket speakerwire from them, or just leave them...

Hi, I have installed a 1.0 farad capacitor to my system of 800 watts. The voltage meter on the capacitor reads about 13.8v when normal. However, when I crank up the volume and on hard bass, the reading would go down to about 12.5v and my lights dim a little, then it goes back up. Is this supposed to...

Okay, I am running three amps and I know I need a capacitor, but I'm not too sure on what to get. I've heard that for every FARAD, it should be compatable with 1000 watts. (ie. 2 farad cap = 2000w power) 1] Is this true? 2] If so, Is that RMS wattage or MAX? I would really like some more info before...

i havent used my amp or capacitor in over 2 years, and they were working fine when i took apart my old system. however, i cant just hook the amp up to someone else's ride though because my amp is a crossfire 1000d (runs 500x2 @ 2 ohms, 1000x1 @ 1 ohm rms), and obviously im not just gonna screw up someone...
