Welcome to the site gmoiey. If you are starting from scratch, you can always to the HTIB route. It'll give you all the bits you need, and if you buy the right ones they are upgradeable for later down the road so you don't have to replace everything in your setup when you decide you want better...

Hi, I'll bet a dollar to a donut that Denon would convert this power supply for you. 9 times out of 10 it's simply a matter of swapping the internal transformer or using a different set of taps. It won't be free but might be cheap. -Gary

I think the Onkyo 806 is a great choice as a receiver but it would be very hard to connect it to any network when the internal components are not setup to handle any stream (or communication) with a PC / Server. Models like the Denon AVR-3808CI come with the PC network jack and the internal circuitry...

I'm looking to purchase a Home Theater receiver. I currently have a 5.1 speaker system, but need an upgraded receiver. I want to be able to hook my BluRay player and HD Sat. receiver into my Home Theater receiver. I'm looking at the Denon AVR-1609 because it has 2 HDMI inputs. My question is this. If...

I have a 7.1 channel Denon receiver which decodes all the latest "Loss-Less" audio formats. But I only have it set up as a 5.1 channel system. I also have a blu-ray. Am I going to miss out on a lot of the audio that these new formats have to offer because I am not using the full 7.1 channels?

I just bought the Denon AVR-2808ci receiver from crutchfield... I went to set it up and I can't get any video or audio signals from my Sony DVD player or my Sony PS3. I can't even get the setup menu to show up on my Sony 1080p tv. I pluged in the RCA video cable into the monitor out plug on the receiver...

Please help me out on this. I'm very new to HTS and don't know much about it. I have been reading previous posts and herd a lot of good things about Onkyo 705. My friend in the business who will be installing my HTS for me, is suggesting that I buy the Denon AVR-2308ci. I don't know what to get and can...

I really like this model: Denon DVD-1940CI . But you would also do handly with either of the following choices: CrutchField Search results matching your needs.

The Denon will convert over to 1080p if you are using the HDMI out (regardless of input cable) I believe (but could be wrong here) that the Onkyo will up convert to 1080i if you use the component cable. I was under the impression that the HDMI upconversion was also limited to 1080i (for older parts)

Welcome to the forums! All of the recievers you are looking at are really wonderful. The Onkyo 805 is a great unit.. However, might I suggest that you don't need to spend all of your budget on a Denon 3808 . Not that there is anything wrong with the 3808, but there is no need to overspend on features...
