Welcome to the site gmoiey. If you are starting from scratch, you can always to the HTIB route. It'll give you all the bits you need, and if you buy the right ones they are upgradeable for later down the road so you don't have to replace everything in your setup when you decide you want better...

Welcome to the forums Sliv. I think the real difference between the units is the connections. The Sony HT-C100 has 3 HDMI inputs on the sound bar (one of them being 1080p capable) where as the Boston Acoustics TVee has a simple RCA input to link the sound from your TV in. Personally I prefer more connectivity...

Hello Houston. Which HTIB were you considering for this effort? The person you spoke with was correct, but didn't give you a reason. The reason that some HTIB systems won't work is due to proprietary or "unique" speaker connections. Those unique terminals make those speakers only work...
