  • i have an amplifier with an unspecified impedance. can anyone help?

i have a valor vpa1005 and i'm not sure what the impedance is the description sounds like you can run it at both 4 ohm and 2 ohm. i already have 4 ohm speakers hooked up to this five channel amp, and i wanted to get a sub. preferably what would be better? because the rms at 2 ohm is 600 w and at 4 ohm...

  • Running 4ohm speakers at 8 ohm load to 4 ohm AMP?? !!!PLEASE HELP!!!

Ok, I have two Kicker L7's when I got the subs I made sure to get 4ohm subs because that was what my el-cheapo amp put out when bridged(I have two of the el-cheapos, each powering each sub). This is how it is ran: Ok, so according to the diagram, it is putting an 8 ohm load onto the amplifier and the...

  • question about wiring two subs

I bought two audiobahn alum10n 10" dvc subs. They have two 6 ohm voice coils. I'm hooking them up to a new Kicker Z series 750.1 mono block amp.My question is, is there anyway to wire these subs to get below a 6 ohm load? The manual said that they can be wired to a 2 ohm load, but I was talking to someone...

  • wiring 2 12" 4 ohm L7s to 1 ohm load

I am trying to wire 2 4 ohm subs to a 1 ohm load, but am doing so with a mono amp with 2 speaker inputs. I know I need to wire the coils in parallel and the speakers too. My Question is can I just bridge the speakers into 1 of the speaker inputs, or do I have to bridge the speakers within the box? Thanks...

  • How Do I Fix This??

I recently purchased 2 12" DVC 4 ohm Kicker CVRs and an Alpine MRP M850. Due to my lack of understanding about Dual Voice Coils/how wiring affects impedance, I did not realize that a subwoofer that was described as 4 ohm DVC would actually end up being 2 or 8 ohms depending on the wiring of the coils...

  • DVC vs. SVC worth the upgrade?

Currently my setup is two ten inch subs (2-ohm) being pushed by a two channel amp. The amp is running 450 watts per channel at 2-ohms. My question is, would i see any performance gain out of getting two DVC's and wiring them accordingly depending on their impedance? My amp can run 450 watts per channel...

  • Confused on Ohms!

Dual 2 Ohms, Dual 4 Ohms? what does all that mean? but don't worry about a formal explanation, I am mostly wondering if this set up (amp and sub) would work perfectly together....maybe I know more about the ohms than I think I do?! help me out, please and thank you so much!! If I got the Alpine Type...

  • Ohms

Greetings all, I recently purchased (2) CVR10's 2-ohm to replace blown JL subs in my current dual sub system. When I had my system installed the 2ohm JL's were wired in a series to a mono amp. However, when reading the kicker owners manual I am a little confused about something. It states the following...
